Eden Care Communities (ECC) is a vibrant, growing registered Canadian charity and not-for-profit housing and health care provider with locations in Regina, Moose Jaw and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. We oversee the operations of the Regina Lutheran Home Campus, Broadway Terrace, Milton Heights, Saplings Early Learning Center, and Eden Care Health Programs located in Regina, Moose Jaw and Saskatoon. In all, we provide housing services and supports to approximately 1,100 individuals.

We are expanding our Finance team and seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, financial analysis, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. The Controller responsibilities will also include financial risk management and quality improvement. Working closely with senior management, the Controller will ensure quality services align with the Mission and Vision of the organization and the Eden Alternative Philosophy of Care™.


  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to all accounting operations and Finance staff
  • Manage Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances for ECC and its subsidiaries
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and monitor the financial performance of the organization
  • Compile and analyze financial reporting packages
  • Prepare monthly and annual operating budgets
  • Communicate financial metrics to senior management
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting in compliance with government legislation
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance
  • Support month-end, year-end, and audit process
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Participate in the development of and support the organization’s strategic plans
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • 3-5 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
  • Professional Designation (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA) is an asset
  • An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with creating financial statements, general ledger functions and month-end/year-end process
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
