The Lutheran Hospital Chaplaincy works in the Regina General and Pasqua Hospitals and the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre. The Religious and Spiritual Care needs of patients are provided by their home churches. The Regina Lutheran Hospital Chaplaincy primarily serves those patients who originate from outside of Regina.
About the Regina Lutheran Hospital Chaplaincy
The Chaplain also provides emergency Spiritual Health Care on request for a member of other faith groups during regular office hours. The communications with the home congregations is still vital to locate the Lutheran patients in the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region facilities. With the stays being so limited, we need the location of the Lutherans in the hospital as soon as possible so that we can provide the appropriate Pastoral/ Spiritual Health Care. Daily visits to the hospitals and the regular calls from congregations ensure that we can meet the needs of Lutherans in the Hospital whenever possible.
Phone calls and voice mail are essential to see this communication continues as necessary. Referrals are made from hospital staff on a regular basis for patients requesting Spiritual Care. All these contribute to an effective provision of Spiritual Care.
